New York, November 19, 2019 – Last Tuesday, the Javits Convention Center in New York City received over 3000 attendees for Tech Up for Women, an annual conference that looks to provide resources, trends, education, and networking opportunities for women in technology.
Andres Angelani, Cognizant Softvision CEO, participated as a panelist in the “Enterprise Collaboration: Shaping the Modern Digital Workplace” discussion. The panel was moderated by Deepti Nayak, Systems Engineering Leader at Cisco, and he was joined in the discussion by Lynn McMahon, Media & Entertainment Lead in North America at Accenture and Sinead Strain, Head of FICC Technology at Goldman Sachs.
During the talk, he stressed the importance of diversity at our company: “New business outcomes require all forms of diversity not just gender diversity, but skills diversity as well. In our Cognizant Softvision Studios is where we embrace that concept and blend skills from different areas in order to take our work to the next level.”
Cognizant Softvision was also a Gold Sponsor of the event, and had a booth at the exhibit hall to connect with potential candidates. Our recruiters got to talk to attendees from different backgrounds and industries and told them about our value proposition and available opportunities for women in technology.
Visitors to our booth also got to learn more about Andres’ newest book, Transforming While Performing: How to Create a Culture of Innovation with Partners, which was launched last October and establishes a road map for what it means to be digital and to embark on this journey.
It was a great experience for all attendees! We look forward to participating in similar events in the future, in order to advance the careers of women in technology.
