Buenos Aires, Argentina, September 9, 2019. It’s 1 am, spring is next door but winter seems to resist. It’s chilly outside, and most of the citizens have already turned off the lights and said goodbye to the weekend. Still, on a silent flat, a sleepless programmer opens his laptop and clicks on a link.
On the other side of the world, Gopikarthik Kasiviswanathan sits in front of his notebook to give a webinar about the future of performance via live-streaming. It’s 9:30 am in the Mysore Studio and Programmers’ Week 2019 has officially started. “I feel this is one of the best ways to share our own experiences with others, it is a meaningful experience and improves our presentation skills”; Gopikarthik says after he has delivered his presentation.
Three and a half hours later, Dragos Rogojan has a similar experience at our Iasi Studio. This is his fifth time as a speaker in Programmers’ Week since its first edition in Romania, in 2015. “Once I got the feel of it, I never stopped”, reveals the enthusiastic Enterprise .Net team lead; “When we step out of our comfort zone, we grow as professionals and as human beings. I feel it is our duty to give back to the community and now, for the first time, to the world”.
But Gopikarthik and Dragos were not the only ones to present. The first day was a success, with seven talks broadcast publicly to over 200 people around the world, and 20 talks delivered internally to our Cognizant Softvision global team.
And this is just the beginning! All week up to September 12, Softvisioners will continue to deliver live-streamed technical talks. These interesting discussions cover topics ranging from technical workshops and industry trends, to discussions on leadership and doing business in the IT world.
