In 2020, Cognizant Softvision continued our philanthropic mission to help those less fortunate and support our local communities. Our constant involvement in social causes was recently celebrated at the Romanian CSR Awards Gala, the only event that exclusively awards Corporate Social Responsibility projects carried out in Romania. Cognizant Softvision won an honorable mention in the “Health” category for donating approximately $80,000 in the past year to local healthcare facilities.
Through our “We are #BetterTogether!” project, Cognizant Softvision Romania has supported the Emergency Clinical Hospital for Children Cluj-Napoca, donating 37,440 euros from 2018-2019 and 65,280 euros between 2019 and 2020. A total of 200 new beds, mattresses and bedside tables for the existing facilities were able to be purchased.
While the direct beneficiary of our charitable donations was the foundation of the Cluj-Napoca Emergency Clinical Hospital for Children, also known as the Foundation for Child Health, our contributions impact a large number of healthcare facilities, as the Cluj-Napoca Emergency Clinical Hospital for Children is the largest hospital in Transylvania.
The main objective of the project was to improve the hospital conditions for the over 300,000 children treated annually in the Emergency Clinical Hospital for Children Cluj-Napoca. Through bettering the conditions at the facilities, such as providing better medical equipment, the quality of medical care and treatment also improves.
The “We are #BetterTogether!” project, like all CSR initiatives, holds a special place in our hearts. Helping to provide a better hospital experience for children, creating a space that feels more like home, and giving parents a feeling of security and trust is something we will always be proud of.
