Softvision’s “Rock Stars:” Four Success Stories

Some of 2018’s Most Successful Projects

At Softvision by Cognizant, our clients are not only our clients, but our partners in every sense of the word; we work together as one cohesive team, working toward one unified goal.

Softvision’s unique approach to developing digital products and solutions has been proven successful time and again. With the year-end approaching, we’d like to highlight some of our Softvisioners’ recent successful projects and congratulate them on a job well done!

Mobile Device Data Collection Platform

One of our partners is the world’s largest telecommunications company and the second largest provider of mobile telephone services. The project one team of experts is currently working on is a mobile device data collection platform that collects metadata-like geolocation, device usage, battery life, and more. In addition, the team is working toward reducing production release time from every three months to three weeks and to eventually achieve daily releases next year.

The team on this project consists of six dedicated Softvisioners in the Cloud & DevOps Guild.

Kudos for our Softvisioners:

“The team had to change from ground up all the CI env from the customer using latest best practices and newest technologies. It was a huge amount of work which required learning 7+ new technologies, create a proposal and implementation based on them and beside this also the team had to understand all customers applications and migrate them to the new env, all of this in only 10 months of work.”

Improving Operational Effectiveness & Agility

Another partner of ours is a leading provider of cloud software that automates and controls the entire financial close process. Their vision is to modernize the finance and accounting function to enable greater operational effectiveness and agility.

Softvision’s collaboration with the company began in October 2014. Expert tech skill knowledge, excellent communication, and organization, and constant focus on delivering high-quality services quickly made us a recognized valuable partner. With more than 50 engineers, Softvision joins our partner in their efforts to deliver modern financial solutions. The team took ownership over several key products like Compliance, Tasks, and Notebook, managing to deliver high-quality results every single time. Also known as “the team with no bugs in production,” consists of three BE engineers, one FE, two Automation QAs and one  PM/Product Associate.

Kudos for our Softvisioners:

You guys are awesome, real Rock Stars! I’m so happy I have the opportunity to work with you guys, and for sure I will choose Softvision wherever I go!”

Custom Dealer Portal

Another one of our partners is “Australia’s largest provider of salary packaging and novated leasing services and a leading provider of fleet and asset management and consumer and fleet financing.”

A Softvision team is responsible for the company’s Dealer Portal. The team set out to build a web portal for dealers in Australia to manage vehicle quotes for customers. The project includes Procurement Portal and Customer Portal, which allow internal users to manage procurement for customers’ vehicles and allow customers to authorize quotes from dealers, among many other benefits.

The team of five achieved a milestone, delivering 37 user stories on an average velocity of 15 story points per sprint in a span of two months.

Kudos for our Softvisioners:

“Both [senior members] make a great team. [The Senior Programmer Analyst] has played a vital role in this phase of Dealer Procurement Portal development. His understanding of the system, technical expertise and problem-solving skills have helped in quickly delivering features to the customers. [The Senior Test Engineer] is diligent in planning and execution of tests. She has gone further than any regular test engineer would go to find bugs and issues in the system.”

A Universal Platform Expected to Exceed 500 Engagement Teams

Softvision is also working with the Assurance division of a company which provides industry-focused services for public and private clients. The Software Development team of six has been responsible for the successful customer launch by the Common AMS Team!

Common AMS is a universal platform that orchestrates the end-to-end process of extracting and working with client data to access and manage applications used by audit engagement teams. The site was piloted last year by approximately 50 client engagement teams and is now expected to exceed 500 engagement teams for year-end. As the platform matures, additional content applications will be hosted within the site for use by an increasing number of engagement teams.

Kudos for our Softvisioners:

“The team has been critical to the success of the C-AMS platform. They have collaborated with our internal teams to integrate the site with systems and technologies that have never been used at [the company]. Their guidance and expertise was critical during the architecture of the platform, and they continue to adapt to new challenges and direction as the platform grows. Despite a challenging release schedule with very tight deadlines, the team is always committed to the success of the project and demonstrated this with our final production release this year to prepare for the audit busy season.”

– Company Assurance Manager

We are proud of our team members who work hard every day to see our clients’ visions come to life, and look forward to seeing what the next year brings for our Softvisioners and our partners.
