With international studios across 10 countries, Cognizant Softvision is home to countless individuals with a wide range of expertise. In this series, we sit down with our experts to get to know them better, pick their brains and gain some insights.

In this edition, we talk with Anca Serban, Delivery Manager in our Cluj-Napoca Studio.


What was your first job?
QC Engineer at a small IT company in Iasi.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I’m addicted to fitness, so for me, each morning starts at 7AM in the gym. It’s like my second home, my happy place. Other than that, I read, update my Instagram page @alwaysstaystrongandfit, cook and spend time with friends.

Any upcoming travel plans?
I would love to visit New York again this year. I love the energy in this city, the noise, how crowded and diverse it is. You have no excuse to get bored in this city.

What’s the best Halloween costume you’ve ever had?
I’m not a big fan of Halloween so I never attended a party, but I think I would choose a Supergirl costume.

What’s your hidden talent/superpower?
Singing. But I should mention that is more than hidden, it’s like my secret and this is why I only sing in my car, while I’m driving…alone.

If you had to eat one food for every meal, what would you eat?


What are your roles and duties at Cognizant Softvision?
I’m a Delivery Manager so I spend all my day working with my teams and making sure each milestone is delivered in time according to our standards.

Describe a day-in-the-life at Cognizant Softvision.
First of all, coffee in the morning with my colleagues (there’s no life before coffee), then go through emails received overnight, respond to critical ones, then sync with PMs and Leads, unblock tracks if any, and join meetings and client discussions. 

Thanks to the relationships built with friends/colleagues, all this is happening in a positive and relaxed atmosphere where we are comfortable to discuss anything and find the best solutions.

What are some ways you support and motivate your team?
We communicate a lot, we define goals for everything we are doing and we find solutions together for each challenge. We celebrate successes and we focus on personal development. For example instead of saying “We cannot do this,” we help our colleagues start with “In order to do this, I should/need/want, etc.”

What do you find the most rewarding about working at Cognizant Softvision?
If I have to choose one thing I would say the fact that my work is appreciated by my teams. Receiving constant feedback, positive or constructive, helped me grow and learn how to work with my teams and colleagues.
