Although the company has been in business for 25 years, it has experienced the most explosive growth over the last three years. The company is looking to build on this exciting momentum, with the objective of reaching millions more households within five years, and entering a minimum of five new markets per year. To meet these ambitious goals, the company needs to be able to scale on a global level. However, it recognized that its existing IT infrastructure was not flexible and scalable enough to support this bold vision, without compromising the quality, experience and partnerships the company is fiercely dedicated to.
COGNIZANT SOFTVISION’S SOLUTION
The client originally approached us to discuss building new features on their existing online platform. After reviewing our approach, the company’s President and other executes realized that Cognizant Softvision should play a strategic role in the broader new markets initiative, and support the deployment of new markets, at least five per year.
Immediately, with the need for speed recognized, Cognizant Softvision ramped up the right experts from our Guilds to build five high-performing teams, called Pods, that would enable a quick delivery and go-to-market solution. With a total of five pods dedicated to this client, workstreams were put into action quickly.
Our Pods dedicated to this client are broken out as follows:
Three of the Pods are fully dedicated to the new markets initiative, ensuring that the client has everything needed to adapt all necessities in order to be fully functional in each country they are opening for business. Since each new market has an aspect of enrollment, e-invoicing and payments, it was critical that one pod be dedicated to the corresponding pillar. With the development and testing in each area happening concurrently, this allows the client to continue to scale by reaching various individual pillar milestones without having any blockers.
The fourth Pod is dedicated to build a new enrollment funnel for new customers working on the main core technology moving from AngularJS to ReactJS. The fifth Pod is dedicated to working on the app platform, focusing primarily on the virtual office messages and notifications features, enhancing the current user experience.
To ensure our engineered outcome is a cohesive, unified platform, our product and design teams are held to the same KPIs, measuring on velocity, quality, product impact, and autonomy allowing for a seamless transition upon rollout.

With each new market and subsequent website introduced the Cognizant Softvision team creates a single dashboard showcasing the various KPIs our team is measured on which include velocity, lead time, cycle time, amount of defects, defects created vs. defects solved.
Our client’s original vision of our partnership matured into a thriving pod-driven approach that showcases our ownership of every aspect we work on, the cohesive design and delivery of our websites and the ability to scale our work on a grand level. As a result, the President of the company has expressed interest in partnering with Cognizant Softvision in the future to assemble our pods to include the Design & UX guild.
