With the ongoing effects that COVID-19 has brought to the world, many companies have shifted toward what is now considered “The World’s Largest Work from Home Experiment” and are trying to navigate the journey of a fully distributed workforce. At Cognizant Softvision, this new reality is nothing new to us – we’ve been mastering this for decades. Built on agile distributed team efficiency, crafted to drive positive business outcomes, globally, our Virtual Pods is in our DNA. In this Faces of Virtual Pods series, hear first hand stories and insights from the Virtual Pod members that are delivering and engineering software products – from all over the world.
“Being in constant communication is vital for us, since there is so much going on and on so many different threads, and this was true even before the COVID-19 outbreak.
Since our Cognizant Softvision team members were distributed in 4 different cities, we made it a habit of having all our meetings on Zoom, we made sure everyone had a webcam so that we could feel closer to each other, we created various Slack channels for chatting on different topics and we also scheduled a weekly all-hands team meeting (on Zoom, of course) where people in all the pods get together and interact with each other. It’s in that meeting that we discuss overall priorities, share business updates and constructively debate around how to improve our process and ways of working.”
